作者簡介

Kathryn Lasky is the American author of many critically acclaimed books, including several "Dear America" books, several "Royal Diaries" books, 1984 "Newbery Honor" winning Sugaring Time, "The Night Journey," and the "Guardians of Ga'hoole" series. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her next book, The Golden Tree, is set to be out in March 2007. She is married to Chris Night and lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

看法的原因可能是由於貓頭鷹的長相古怪，兩眼又大又圓，炯炯發光，使人感到驚恐；兩耳直立，好像神話中的雙角妖怪，使得古人多用“鴟目虎吻”來形容凶暴之貌；貓頭鷹在黑夜中的叫聲像鬼魂一樣陰森淒涼，使人更覺恐怖，古時稱它為“惡聲鳥”，《說苑·鳴梟東徙》中有“梟與鳩遇，曰：我將徙，西方皆惡我聲。……”的寓言故事。此外，貓頭鷹晝伏夜齣，飛時像幽靈一樣飄忽無聲，常常隻見黑影一閃，也使對其行為不甚瞭解的人們産生瞭種種可怕的聯想。
