作者简介

Warren Elsmore is a LEGO modeler who has worked with several commercial companies in the United Kingdom, building plastic models to help them visualize their conceptions. As a hobbyist, he is best known for his 13 1/2-foot-long LEGO model of London's famous St. Pancras railroad station.

创始人Ole Kirk Christiansen曾在公司内部为其小型玩具厂以及生产的木制玩具举办了一次征集名字的活动，而最后选中的就是他的提案，但该商标名直到1954年才在丹麦进行合法注册。“LEGO”的发展，伴随着的是乐高公司规模与知名度不断地上升，手中的“武器”则是源自丹麦的玩具——积木，通过不同人的不同组合，甚至同一人的不同巧思，乐高积木可以构建出不同的世界。简单的物件不但为孩童构建出一个奇妙的世界，让每一个看到它的小孩都抵挡不了如此巨大的诱惑，因此在欧美家庭，乐高玩具一直享有很高的声誉，即使在亚洲，也有相当多的用户，只是因为价格昂贵，放慢了它的进一步向市场扩展。

乐高积木的发明者是奥勒·基奥克，他1891年生于丹麦比隆附近的菲尔斯哥夫村。他有一手精湛的木匠手艺，年轻时就热衷于制作各种小玩具，出自他手的小飞机、汽车、动物个个形态逼真、惟妙惟肖。尽管他不懂经商，玩具经常滞销，但这并未使他放弃自己的爱好。后来，他设计的拼插玩具“约约”终于风靡一时。1934年，他为自己的积木玩具设计了“乐高”商标。
