The price of her art skyrockets, and she, the silent patient, is hidden away from the tabloids and spotlight at the Grove, a secure forensic unit in North London.
Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who has waited a long time for the opportunity to work with Alicia. His determination to get her to talk and unravel the mystery of why she shot her husband takes him down a twisting path into his own motivations—a search for the truth that threatens to consume him....

##It's not bad, but not as good as people make it out to be.
評分##前麵慢慢聽瞭很多天覺得很拖遝，但後麵還是很精彩的！不像一般的thriller那麼嚇人，聽瞭作者訪談他覺得更是suspense，也受到希區柯剋的影響。
評分##3星半吧。故事還可以，有psychological thriller共通的優勢（情節抓人，讀起來放不下）和缺點（後勁小/值得迴味的地方少，甚至越迴味越不對勁），人物就差一些。如果讀一本書隻是為瞭那一個twist，無論讀的時候猜不猜得到，我好像都不太喜歡。

評分##三天就斷斷續續讀完瞭，上一本如此瘋狂啃書的是丹布朗的《天使與魔鬼》。開頭和結尾太精彩瞭，中間部分在費解和厭惡男主行為中略顯呱噪的堅持著，最後結局讓一切釋然。非常完美的推理情節設計，讀完覺得很爽。

評分##起先聽瞭一個小時有聲書都準備放棄瞭，還好聽從建議改為閱讀。後半部分幾乎一口氣讀完。是不是我讀的懸疑太少瞭，這麼容易代入。一直在期待反轉然而還是震驚瞭。
