Theodor Seuss Geisel - better known to millions of his fans as Dr. Seuss is quite simply the most beloved children’s book author in the world.

Brilliant, playful, and always respectful of children, Dr. Seuss charmed his way into the consciousness of four generations of youngsters and parents. In the process, he helped millions of kids learn to read.

Dr. Seuss was born Theodor Geisel in Springfield, Massachusetts, on March 2, 1904. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1925, he went to Oxford University, intending to acquire a doctorate in literature.

Geisel published his first children's book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, in 1937, after 27 publishers rejected it.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1984, an Academy Award, three Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards, and three Caldecott Honors, Geisel wrote and illustrated 44 books. 《這些年我們的精神裂變》是一部立足於自我精神世界，又富於抵抗性質的文化批評論集，也是一本教人們如何接近、分辨和改善當下現實的書。周誌強強調社會事實，注意到當下社會外部的文化裂痕和內部的權利秩序的關聯，敏感於社會權利結構的細微變化，並且洞察社會諸種荒誕原則霸權邏輯以及諸種“閤理的宣言”的不閤理，聯接時代的政治隱喻，始終訴求於社會趨嚮閤理化的可能。從寫作的時序上講，書中思想觀點是作者近十年來思考並陸續闡發齣來的，其中暗含瞭個人思想生命的曆程。
