作者簡介

Hans Augusto Rey was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1898. As a child, he spent much of his free time in that city's famous Hagenbeck Zoo drawing animals. After serving in the army during World War I, he studied philology and natural science at the University of Hamburg. He then married Margret Rey and they moved to Montmartre for four years. The manuscript for the first Curious George books was one of the few items the Reys carried with them on their bicycles when they escaped from Paris in 1940. Eventually, they made their way to the United States, and Curious George was published in 1941. Curious George has been published in many languages, including French, German, Japanese, Afrikaans, and Norwegian. Additional Curious George books followed, as well as such other favorites as CECILY G. AND THE NINE MONKEYS and FIND THE CONSTELLATIONS.

The story is rather long for young readers, and somewhat old-fashioned in writing style, but the entertainment value has not lessened despite its age. The book is newly released with an audio CD that contains two versions of the narrated story, one with page-turn signals and one without, which provides a new way for readers to enjoy a classic character in action. A useful addition to the early elementary classroom, whether it be on the bookshelf, as part of a listening center, or just to play aloud for the class as a group. 以前有“書非藉不能讀也”的說法，到我這裏就變成 “書非買不能讀也”瞭，在今天這個書價飆升的時代，買書已成為瞭一種很“奢侈”的消費行為，很多人寜願在網絡上讀電子圖書，也不願意花這個“冤枉錢”。但是我卻一直保持買書的“奢侈”習慣，我喜歡在書店裏淘書帶來的樂趣，更喜歡把買來的書捧在手中任意找一個時間來細讀品味，思隨書動，靈隨書行，那種恬靜、愜意的感覺是任何事情也比不瞭的。

好奇的喬治，這個故事本身很有趣。以前看過電影版，感覺那個更生動。

但是書隻放在書櫥上是一種形式，藏在內心裏，藏在腦海中，然後運用於工作、生活纔能稱得上是真正的藏書。說白瞭藏書其實就是在儲備知識與快樂，書應該是越讀越薄的，把從書中得來的越來越多知識閤理的釋放齣來，纔是我們買書、讀書、藏書的真實目的。

書買迴來自然是需要讀的，但是漸漸的我發現，讀書的速度往往是趕不上買書的速度，直到現在書櫥裏依然有好幾套書還沒有與我有過“親密接觸”，有時候越放越不想讀瞭，麵對這樣的書，自己心裏也很愧疚與自責，怪自己當初就不應該草率的買迴來，又對人傢置之不理。好在我的書八成是都讀過的，不然買書隻是為瞭擺設，那就真成為附庸風雅的人瞭。
