Hat, ribbon, bird, rose. To the people on the island, a disappeared thing no longer has any meaning. It can be burned in the garden, thrown in the river or handed over to the Memory Police. Soon enough, the island forgets it ever existed.
When a young novelist discovers that her editor is in danger of being taken away by the Memory Police, she desperately wants to save him. For some reason, he doesn’t forget, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for him to hide his memories. Who knows what will vanish next?

##一開始覺得是delirium+the buried giant，可能是翻譯的問題寫得有點平淡，身為一個biomedic（…）我還在想最後該怎麼解釋，要是它像tbg一樣為什麼消失莫名其妙地就帶過瞭我真的會很生氣很生氣，但是看到後麵就覺得為什麼好像沒那麼重要，很石黑一雄的感覺，有點沒頭沒尾，但是處理得很好，沒必要在意為什麼 聽說電視劇是石原裏美演的，感覺她比起這本書還是太濃瞭一點 ps. typewriter的穿插真的太妙瞭，到最後雞皮疙瘩都起來瞭

評分##無趣且單薄。僞科幻/文藝作品的反麵教材。論科幻，世界秩序和世界觀都沒搭起來，memory police作為權力機構，其來由、目的、閤法性沒有一句解釋。論文藝，反復描摹記憶消失的感覺，牽強附會，讓人隻有快進。完成度甚至不如《素食者》。
