內容簡介
始予齣自南閩，速歸江錶，分甘與草木俱腐。誅茅城山以尚書孫公仲益所書雲臥庵字而揭焉。公又以詩見寄，有「身世兩相連，雲閑臥不飛」之句，蓋其知予者也。山頂高寒，非老者所宜，八見青黃，病隨日生。繇是徙居麯江之感山。年運既往，與世日益疎闊，順時製宜，以待溘然。或逃可畏之暑於鬆塢，或暴可愛之日於茆簷。身閑無事，遇賓朋過訪，無可藉口，則以疇昔所見所聞，公卿宿衲遺言逸跡，舉而資乎物外談笑之樂。不謂二三子剽聞，而耳亦熟矣，遂相與記諸，以《雲臥紀談》名之。然予所談，未必世之賢者以為善，今會稗成編，無乃重予之遇歟。若夫文字性空，言語道斷，以予終日談為未嘗談，則庶幾焉。雲臥庵老僧自敘。內頁插圖

相與齣資創小輪藏，庶幾財法互陳，補其日給。歲在癸卯，徒弟遽殂，遂自任其灑掃之責，而量柴頭、數米顆之外，無佗念裝懷，且圖睡快而已。裏兄謝事上藍，既到山問，樂其幽寂，為留十有一月，應南源命而遷青原祖席，綠法頗盛。亦有二三衲子，不孤其竹篦用事。所用竹篦，乃大慧老師在梅陽來報恩，為兄弟人室者。無著嘗作銘紀其由，銘有引曰：「大慧老師以竹篦揭示佛祖不傳之妙，幾四十年，遂使臨濟正派勃興焉。至於居患難中，亦不倦提擊。所以梅州報恩有竹篦在堂司也。江西瑩仲溫嘗掌其職，得之而歸，豈特為叢林韆載之榮觀邪？」無著妙摁謹稽首，為之銘曰：「南山有竹，不削自異，狀若黑蛻，噴噴毒氣，如尺之棰，用之無匱，鍛聖烹凡，經天緯地。仲溫得之，尤宜保秘。照映叢林，韆古不墜。」愚渦沉鄉並收得，誠為閑傢具。溘然後，定被摩那輩將去撥火。何如於未蓋棺前，以竹篦及無著親寫之銘，並歸於裏兄，所幸其用得靈驗，想兄聞而必為之喜也。
其山頭兄弟與兄契分厚，而過江西，愚得復見者，唯古岡永兄，受仰山命，時取道豐城，來庵所相訪，因送其人院，其後遷大漏，二年而示寂。長溪晦兄住香城，亦至山捨，及董大漏，閱一月而委順。建昌圓兄自鵝湖移仰山，迂路相尋，亦送其至臨江慧力，無何領院事，七日而西道。然晦、圓二兄，世綠不假藉如此，在其分上，又何憾焉？育王光兄，道福如是之盛，嚮來朝遊夕處，而不識韋皋是貴人者多矣。
