　　 《姚勉集（繁體堅排版）》原名《雪坡姚捨人文集》、《雪坡捨人集》、《雪坡集》等，五十捲，南宋姚勉撰。姚勉（二二六-二一六二），字成一，又字述之，號雪坡，瑞州新昌（今江西宜豐）人。少穎敏，日誦數韆言。師事蔡杭，篤守程、硃之學。理宗寶佑元年（二一五三）進士，其廷對萬言策「議論本於學識，憂愛發於忠誠」，二筆萬言，水湧山齣，盡掃拘拘謭謭之習」，試官以為「奇纔也」。今人亦以為是「曆代狀元文中不可多見的一篇奇文」。姚勉初授平江節度判官，鏇丁父憂，服闋除秘書省校書郎、正字。

秦檜所為，今日豈宜有此，遂歸。除通判處州，辭不就。及開慶元年（二一五九）昊潛人相，召為校書郎、正字、沂王府教授，景定元年（一二六〇）兼太子捨人。後理宗過東宮，姚勉藉講《否》卦指斥權奸，無所顧避，大忤執政瀋炎、幸臣董宋臣。及賈似道歸自黃州，諷孫附鳳劾姚勉為昊潛黨，免歸而卒，年四十七。姚勉生平多孝義之舉。曾師從寜遠樂雷發（字聲速，號雪磯）學詩，雷發纍舉不第，姚勉登科後，上疏請以讓雷發。又初授承事郎，以本州島解額狹，願降授文林以增舉額。又在東宮當轉官，以祖守常四舉不第，願以所轉官授之。其氣節文章，為時人所稱，多以蘇軾、陳亮相比擬。方，逢辰稱其為「瑞之奇氣也」，「欲為天下國傢興事立業者也，豈文章而已乎」。文及翁贊其「忼慨有大誌」，「倜儻有義氣」，「磊磊落落有奇節」。釋道璨則譽曰：「烽然文星，光焰萬丈，摺鏇俯仰，未嘗不在照臨間。」姚勉生前與高安鬍仲雲、劉元高及同縣黃夢炎齊名，稱「錦江四俊」。《宋史》無傳，僅於捲四十三提及「己亥，賜禮部進士姚勉以下及第齣身有差」。《南宋館閣錄績錄》捲八、九略載其仕途履曆。
玄纛開藩，韆裏歡呼，可想而見。某欲旌賀悃，輒奉尺書，皋緩有誅，尚祈矜貸。江上奏捷，虜騎已無南牧，政可為備禦計。右相鞦壑先生眷知明府尤厚，宏材必可盡展布也。鄉邦幸甚。
某末繇侍拜，時暑嚮炎，伏惟為廟朝民社重。告成而後，即有峻除。京師百爾骫令，一當遵奉。
